How I could work as a freelancer -Task 1

 A job I would personally love to aspire towards would to be working freelance as an illustrator and designer. I love the idea of working for myself and being in control of my working hours and life style. Within working freelance I feel i would be able to explore further expanding into are such as Wedding stationery, design jobs such as branding and also children’s illustration. As a freelance illustrator i like the idea of being varied and working on a range of different projects that could keep me engaged.

As well as working freelance I would use my time to grow more as a maker and seller. During my degree I have i have used my time to grow my business on the side focusing on my social medias and doing local markets around Staffordshire selling a range of products. As a freelancer I would focus my energy more into this expanding my range of products to more textiles and homeware pieces. 

As for freelance work itself I would love to find an illustration agency that would represent myself and my work helping me to find a range of clients and expand my work as a whole. 

During this time I would also love to expand my knowledge of surface design, perhaps reaching out to smaller business to perhaps collaborate on different children’s wear. I feel by doing this I would help expand my portfolio whilst creating work for experience. 

Another element i would love to look at would be creating a separate social which would cous more on wedding stationery. I love the idea of creating invites and thinking more graphically. Since running my own business I have been asked multiple times regarding wedding stationery and if it was something i could do. Since then i have done two wedding pieces and have enjoyed the process as a whole. Therefore, i like the idea of creating a separate area of my business where I could truly focus on wedding and other stationery. To do this, this would include setting up new parts of a business including a separate email, separate social and beginning to create mockup pieces for examples. 

Moving forward I intend to look at ways that I could get to this point moving forward as a freelance specficallly look at different agencies that i could particularly submit work for. I also intend to work on my own personal branding such as updating my portfolio and website thinking how I can make i even stronger.
