Goals and potential ideas for after graduation -task 1

-work for a company such as in a creative studio, marketing agency or other areas as a creative artworker/designer.

When thinking about work post uni, I really like the idea of working in a studio with others. I feel this would be a great way to learn a range of new skills and allow myself to grow further as an illustrator and designer. To do this I need to work on building a professional effective portfolio that will capture employers attention as well as looking at improving certain skills such as getting the adobe accreditation as this would seem more appealing.

-work freelance

Another career path I would love to take would be to work freelance whilst doing a part time job. I like the idea of working for myself  and creating and choosing jobs that I feel will suit my work and really creating that overall enjoyment. Of course there are some cons to working freelance such as difficulty in getting work, therefore, it is importance to use this time to research how to get freelance work and perhaps what agencies could help this process.

-set up a separate side to my business fully focused to stationery such as wedding stationery

As well as my own current business I would love to set up a very separate social focusing more on stationery and invites especially for weddings. This would involve a more targeted clientele and therefore feel the idea of separate social media will create that separation and pull customers in and show them directly what I could offer. Therefore, I would like to research into existing wedding stationery business and perhaps look into wedding shows so I can get an idea of standard pricing.

-improve and create a range of new products

I already have a wide range of products which I sell online on Etsy and my website, however, there feels like there are elements that are missing such as more specific products, keeping a closer eye on profits and adapting some design flaws. I feel this process would involve creating and adapting a new range of products that would better suit my target audience as well as testing a newer printer which offer cheaper deals and therefore allow greater much more noticeable profits. From here I would then like to reach out to potentials stockists and try and get my work out there. This process of looking into stockist could be included in my research.

Moving forward I would like to think about these different elements and possibly see if there is anything I could take from this to use for my self promotional item.
