Existing stationery business research
With my personal promtional item beign the start of my stationery business i felt it would be a great idea to look into existing businesses and see different elements they include and how they are working succsesfully. The first wesbite i found was Emmy designs. Emmy designs is also astaffordshire based wedding stationery business, with a professional website. Their website was something that particulalry stood out tto me. I love the simple look of the white background and feel it really allows the designs to speak for themselves.
I also really like the layouot, it seems simple and easy to follow with a range of information from different types of products to bespoke services. From looking on the wesbite I was able to get an idea of some prices for basic template designs. For the main save the dates, the y came in a 1.50 a design, i would say this is reasonable and would be a similar price for me to follow. As for the invitations these were 1.95, and of course had that more premium feel.
Another element I liked about Emmy designs and the website was how they showcases their bespoke designs and make it clear this can be an option. This is something wanted to do myself, and in this case i think it feel overall very succsesful.
Lovestruck stationery was a second company I found online however, had more of a grapic design clean approached to colourful illustration. Their website felt very different to Emmy design, and not as straightforward to go through as a customer. I do however, feel the whole look is classy and suits the particular vibe they are going for. I really like their logo and smaller details such as use of font as it give that realy clean look.
Something, I do like about Lovestruck is their aout me section, it is is nice to see the person behind the designs and just creates that extra connection to th ecustomer.
On lovestruck's website it shows a range of photography fir the different styles, givign the idea that it has all been carefully thought about. I really like this as the different flat lays look clean cut and classy and fit the business as a whole. Something, I wasn't too sure on on this particualr website was the pricing system. There were some prices that were clear and others that weren't. This felt quit a contrast to Emmy designs with the clear price under every product.
However, on lovestruck wesbite there is a quote system which is nice, as it creates that inital contact between designer and customer and also allows the designer to think fairly about the price depending on if it is bespoke.
Overall, I think it was useful to look at a couple different websites and see how they compare. It was nice to see hwat eleemnts i should consider to use in my own business when it comes to it.
