How to use social media effectively
Social Media tips
When thinking not only about my self intitated project but also my original social media page for my work it is important to think about how we can market our selves and what are the best thinks to do. When looking at range of different articles you are able to see a range of different tips.
Something i noticed come up alot was to focus on your engagement not your followers. Followers are just a number wilst enegagement helps you build a relationship. This is great for getting your work out there and seen as it allows peopel to feel a connection to yourself and feel you are more approachable.
Anothe tip I came across was making sure to share not only our work but also parts of your life and the world it has been created in. This gives your page personality and reveals more about who you are as an artist. This like th epoint above will help you make a connection with your audience.
Other tips i found was more related to the content itself. For instagram although it is an image based platform they have since pushed over to reels, and these therefore get bumped up in the algorithm. Not only is this good for a bigger reach but also breaks up your feed and shows varied content. Another great tip is to look at creating content that shows the behind the scenes of your work. This will be interesting for the viewer and will allow them to get an idea of hwta goes on behind you process creating a greater engagment.
Something else whihc appears alot when researching about social media especially instagram is posting at the right time. Posting at the right time depends on how many people use instagram and by posting a popular time you are more likely to get some engagemnt and therefore promiting you post within the algorithm.
