Career Opportunities-task 1

As part of the creative futures module it was important to follow some tasks from different sessions. One of these tasks included looking at different areas and situations I would like to work for and how I could go about contacting these companies and moving forward for potential work.

Below I have separated different companies, charities and publishers looking at ten overall thinking about who they are, why I want to work with them and how i could contact them

Handsome Frank-Agency

Handsome Frank is an illustration agency which I would love to be represented by. I love their varied styles and would love to be a fit for them. I would choose to approach them through an application process by submitting my portfolio for review. When reviewing their website i found a submission area with an email for me to contact.

Quarto Kids-Publishing

Quarto Kids Publishing is publishing company that I feel would be a great suit for my Posie, Rosy Cheeks book. I want to create contact to see if there is any possibility regarding publishing. When looking on their website it was clear where to send submissions with individual emails for different genres. For my submission I would be using QuartoKidsSubmissions@quarto.com to make sure it is specifically for my target audience.

Fledgling-Publishing

Is a rather small publishers and therefore could be a good fit for a publishers for me to approach. However, unfortunately after reviewing the website in greater detail this would not be possible as they no longer accept children's and illustrated books.

Agency rush -Agency

Agency Rush is another agency that i found during my research and found they have a range of different styles that they represent. I feel this could be a great fit for myself and therefore someone for me to contact. When having a look at their website I have been able to find a contact and submission instructions. Contact; join@agencyrush.com

Mini Boden-Company

Mini Boden is a design company I have always looked up to. I love their bold colours and designs and to be able to design for them would be a big goals. This is a big achieving goal however, still something for me to be aware of. Since doing my research I have been able to find some contacts on LinkedIn with existing employees.

Scribbler-Company

Scribbler Company is another company that I love. They produce a range of greetings card and stationery and have a lot of  freedom when it comes to their designers. I know the scribbler team is actually quite small however, when looking online I have been able to find the email of the head designer. Therefore, when it comes to it I feel i could approach and send my portfolio forward.

H&M kids-Company

H&M is a major fashion company well known for their wide range of designs. However, it is the kids area that really catches the eye. I love their bright fun prints and the idea of being commissioned for a print design would be a dream. When looking online for contact I found a range of designers that could provide possible connections.

Skinnydip London-Company

Skinnydip is another company that I would love to work for. I love their fun and colourful designs and feel it could be a fun fit to work for. Again this is another company that i was able top find links and employees through linked in.

CCLG-Charity

CCLG also known as Childhood cancer and leukaemia group is a charity close to myself and feel it is someone I could approach with my book. It would be nice to find a charity to either help publish or support. As for contact I have a few mutual contact that i feel i could approach and also an email where I hope to pitch my idea.

Young Lives vs cancer-Charity

Young lives vs cancer is another charity which I would love to approach with my book. This is a very well known charity so could be hard to get in contact however, I have found an email online which I aim to try and progress with.
